We all know about one of OnePlus’s co-founding members/ex-Global Director’s departure from the company took place a long time ago, in September 2020. Ever since then, Carl Pei has been working on opening a new company which was named “Nothing“, but unlike OnePlus, the company would be focussing more on accessories for Smartphones and Audio devices.
In the recent run of events, a Noting device with model no. B181 was spotted on the Bureau Of Indian Standards (BIS) website hinting towards a launch of a yet to become ‘audio device’.
Carl Pei has recently teased about the upcoming Truly Wireless (TWS) Earbuds on the official forum. The company confirmed that the first devices from the brands would be called as the Ear 1, which is slated to launch later this year. CEO of Nothing also clarified that the device will be launching in June, but didn’t mention any confirmed date as of now.
However, the BIS listing didn’t reveal anything about the upcoming Ear 1.
Nothing’s Ear 1 BIS Listing:
Twitter Tipster Mukul Sharma had shared the leak on a recent tweet of his, stating that the Nothing Ear 1 is confirmed to launch in June 2021. And as stated above, his tweet also confirmed no further leaks on the ‘Nothing Ear 1’ on the BIS website, but it can be anticipated for the TWS Earbuds to launch by the end of June.
Although there was no confirmed date regarding the launch of the product, we can expect some more information about the device in the near course of time. Pei announced that the brand, ‘Nothing’ back in 2020, and since then, the brand remained very stealthy in revealing its first device that’s expected to launch this year. The hearable is also expected to feature some key elements of Concept 1.
Concept 1 was teased back in March 2021, and the idea behind it was based on three primary principles- Weightless, Timeless, and Effortless. Pei claimed that the design of the upcoming is till a “Top-Secret”, and the company claims that the Ear 1 will arrive with the combination of “transparency, iconic form, and refined functionality”.
As stated above, the company is still yet to specifically mention the launch date and specifications of the Ear 1. It’s advisable to take this piece of information “with a pinch of salt”. It would be interesting to see what Carl Pei, after leaving OnePlus, is cooking in his Chinese Kitchen and when will his company start serving the courses!
