The music festival of Ziro valley of Arunachal Pradesh has it all, an astonishingly beautiful scenic beauty and music of national musicians. The music festival of Ziro is perfect amalgam of art, music, nature and culture. This music festival  brings together the most significant musical talents of India and a diverse audience to witness it. It is an open air music festival that showcases the talent of Indian artist. The festival was first initiated by Bobby Hano and Anup Kutty in 2012.

The Ziro valley home to the famous Apatani tribe, famous for their hospitality and the love of music. Their hospitality and love for music can be witnessed throughout the festival which is span over for four days. The lash picturesque green valley over the years has become a go to destination for hungry music lovers of different parts of India. Over the years since it’s starting many giant musical talents like “Indus Creed” , Lee Ranaldo, Louw Majaw, Steve Shelly, Khasi Bloodz, As we lay down, Barmer Boys etc have graced the festival. Known as one of the biggest outdoor Indie music festival the festival also provides accommodation facility to the audience in camps near the venue keeping them close to session and artists. Also providing the stalls of mouthwatering  local, national food items ,  the bamboo chicken and rice beer are a must try here. Tickets of the value can be avail from bookmyshow and price range of ticket stats from 5,000 to 24,000 depending on the accommodation one desires.

 

The journey to the venue itself is an adventurous one. As there aren’t any direct flight to Ziro one must take the flight to Guwahati whoch is around 440km away from Ziro. Train from Guwahati can be taken to Naharlagum a town of arunachal Pradesh a journey of 7 hours  from there taxi or jeep can be taken to Ziro valley which again takes 3 to 4 hours of journey through rugged mountainous terrain passing through landslide  hit areas, rocky mountains and bone chilling old winds. Reaching the valley can be tiresome  but once reaching the valley all feelings of tiredness goes away in a blink of an eye.

But one must carry  official permits to be the part of the festival. These includes “Inline permit”(ILP)  for Indian citizens except the natives to enter any place in Arunachal Pradesh. The ILP can be acquired either online or can be obtain from the government Authorities of Arunachal Pradesh whose offices can be found in Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Guwahati and Tezpur.

 

The Ziro festival of music is one of the most anticipated  festival of the country, this festival brings together the music enthusiast youngsters from not only the country but also from all over the world . apart from being a fertile opportunity to showcase the cultural versatility, talents and music of North East India it also serves as the promotional tool of the state. The host tribe along with beautiful green valley and an impossibly beautiful blue sky welcome all with arms wide open. One must go and witness the festival to relive again leaving the modern concrete life .
